Exhibitions
This page is the gateway to the online shows of our Annual exhibitions. The UKCPS has two exhibitions most years. The major one of these is a juried exhibition, with prizes donated by our sponsors. Jury members have included Ann Kullberg, David Cook, Bernard Poulin and Ann James Massey, amongst others. The rules of entry for this exhibition are that works should be completed in "pure" coloured pencil ONLY. Some graphite is allowed under the pencil, and watersoluble pencils are also allowed, but not pastels. The aim of these exhibitions is to prove what can be accomplished using just coloured pencils. If an artist is successful in getting into this show three times within a five year span, they are entitled to put the letters UKCPS after their name.
The second exhibition, at the Cumberland Pencil Factory in Keswick, is a mixed media exhibition, with the emphasis on coloured pencils. The rules for this show state that at least 75% of the coloured surface of the work must be coloured pencil. This is open to all UKCPS members and pictures are chosen via ballot, no jury.
DVDs are available of all entries at the 2010 and 2011 Annual Exhibitions from our shop.
