This started as a study of a bowl of hot-cross buns (it was around Easter time) and evolved in sequence to include the fruit, the teapot, the teapot lid (the original was lost and I borrowed a similar smaller one), the tablecloth, the figure (although my wife modelled, it is not actually her—honest) and finally the background and cups.
