The piece depicts a small street in the North Yorkshire village of Staithes, a coastal village that has been an inspiration for artists for many years due to its many wonderful views and the everchanging light, sky and sea. In this piece the artist has aimed to capture the rich texture and colours created over time as man made structures are exposed to the extremes of the elements and effects of the sea.
