The beautiful reds and oranges produced by the Shumach tree are a delight in autumn, and make a colourful study ideal for a painting. I took the photograph in the late afternoon shooting upwards to catch the light glowing through the orange and red leaves. I always try for strong lighting in my pictures; I feel that great lighting turns a mediocre picture into something out of the ordinary. I hope I have achieved something a little special here.
