Big cats are my preferred subject. I have never seen a snow leopard in the wild, but who has? The one depicted here is Shadow, one of the snow leopards that belonged to Peter and Jackie James at ‘Santago’. I just love the texture and subtle colours of their coat, which makes the picture almost monochrome, but for their lovely eyes and their nose which in a young leopard is pink, becoming darker as they get older.
