I am a self taught, spare time artist and cannot remember a time when I did not use a pencil,
albeit with varying degrees of expertise, over the years.
Pencils have always been a favourite and I enjoy the detail possible through this medium. This subject is a departure from my usual one of buildings and architectural detail. This picture brings back happy memories of an evening in Ayr. As the sun broke through the clouds, the rather grey scene was brought to life as the light touched clouds, sand and water.
