Karen White

I began drawing approximately three years ago, after an artist visitor heard me wishing I could draw and suggested I had a go! I’m self taught, getting help from books and the internet. At times I get frustrated with my lack of skill and I long for some proper tuition, but I carry on, learning with each piece I do. I’ve just discovered mountboard and know that this will become a favourite support. I use several different brands of pencils, including Prismacolor and Caran D’ache Supracolour.

I love drawing dogs (I have four of my own), and have recently attempted some other animals and birds.

I live on the edge of the New Forest and am a keen walker and photographer, taking most of the photos that I work from myself.

I have recently started a blog where I post my work in progress.
