Newey
Jonathan
Newey is an award-winning artist with over 20 years of experience in
drawing and painting.
He
comes from a long line of artists in the family and has extensive
experience in a wide range of mediums including coloured pencil.
He has over 8 years of experience as a lecturer for Reading adult
college and is a member of various organisations including Reading
Guild of Artists and the Society of Amateur artists.
As
can be seen from the pictures he specialises in wildlife portraits when
using the versatile medium of coloured pencil and prefers to work on
Daler mount board as a coloured background. The pencils he uses are
primarily Derwent Watercolour pencils although he has also used Caran
D'Ache and Faber Castel.
He
is an active supporter of environmental issues concerning the
conservation of wildlife and their habitat and is proud to be a member
and supporter of such organisations as The David Shepherd Conservation
Foundation and Wildlifeline.
