The inspiration is the beautiful roses my friend grows. She let me have a couple and they posed very nicely, one posing twice as it gradually opened up for the second portrait. I have a small collection of pretty cups and saucers and this one had just the same colours as the roses. By the way, the roses smell even nicer than they look.
