Heather Joliffe
Heather
Jolliffe was born in the heart of the New Forest in Hampshire, a place,
which remains a favourite source of inspiration for her artwork. After
studying at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art, she moved to London
to study at the Royal Academy Schools of Art. Heather has a passion for
her subject of wildlife in its natural environment. She makes frequent
trips to various locations to develop sketchbook work in the field,
capturing landscape scenes and detail, the characteristics of wildlife
and their behaviour, and the shapes, colour and textures
of natural forms. Much of this work provides the basis for larger, more
detailed artworks in the studio, as seen in the sample images.
Heather
has drawings and paintings in educational establishments, county and
numerous private collections in the UK. She is a regular and freelance
art tutor, who demonstrates for Derwent pencils, as well as
participating in wildlife and landscape art exhibitions, residencies
and workshops. For full details of current workshops and events she
will be attending, see our workshops
