Tim
Fisher
Born
in Leicestershire, Tim is
entirely self taught, he is a very popular art demonstrator and tutor.
Approaching his paintings
like a researcher, Tim works with the heart of a purist and the mind of
a
realist. Wherever possible, he collects his own reference material by
observation, field sketches, notes and photographs. His work is a
composite of
all these elements plus a remarkable use of light and colour to produce
intriguing and inviting images. His diligence and ongoing
efforts to improve his skills working in a variety of media culminated
recently
with a one man show at The Barbican, London.
Tim has won many prizes with
his art, including being a finalist in the First Daily Mail NOT the
Turner
prize competition where he was short listed from 12,000 entrants. His
work has appeared in
national newspapers and can be found in public, private and corporate
collections throughout the world. One of his paintings was recently
purchased
by Peter Jackson, producer of Lord of the Rings.
The consummate draftsman,
coloured pencils suit Tim’s style of working admirably. He
regularly uses them
for finished artwork and sketches and is often in demand to demonstrate
their
unique properties to art groups. Tim regularly demonstrates
for Cretacolour and Derwent pencils as well as writing regular articles
in the
Leisure Painter magazine and WH Smith’s Start Art bookzine.
