As
an American, the Bald Eagle is an icon for
me—of our country and of the nature that comprises my
favoured subject matter.
For me, the eagle is a truly majestic bird that possesses high
intelligence.
This bird's eye view conveys his “intellect” and
intensity, which I have
symbolically portrayed in this piece with the strong contrasts of light
and
dark—light peering out of the dark into the distant light. My
reference for
this piece is a handsome eagle I photographed at the Jacksonville Zoo,
Jacksonville, Florida.
