Julie Coverley
I
have been dabbling with coloured pencil since I was at school. I went
to an evening class in drawing and painting when my children were
small, here I was encouraged to try my hand at watercolours. I soon
gave these up as a bad job and found I got much better results with
oils. I began to get regular commissions and was churning out pictures
of dogs, cats pubs and people at a rate of about two per month. We then
moved house and I found my workspace very limited. This is when I tried
my hand at coloured pencil at a more serious level. I now work mainly
on portraits of people and pets. I like to capture images of the
outdoors which inspire me. I have been asked to produce portraits as
diverse as a red and yellow macaw and a Harley Davidson!
