Dave Alford specialises in creating vivid, pencil art drawings of mainly classic and vintage automobiles, aircraft and other icons from the golden ages of engineering.

Dave's work blends his love of all things mechanical, with his love of various art styles from Pop Art to Art Deco. Whilst technical in nature, and whilst Dave employs technical drawing techniques in his work, the focus is less on the machine, as it is on the human element. Thus his work can be described as a celebration of man's love affair with the machine. This can also be seen by the way in which both elements complement each other. For example, when drawing cars from the 1950s, the drivers reflect the style and fashion of the time, just as the car does.

Another favourite subject for Dave is nostalgia art and all things retro, with influences from the 20s, 30s, 40s and fifties. Dave also enjoys drawing portraits. His favourite subjects include his motor racing heroes such as Formula One legend Juan-Manuel Fangio, however he is also available for commission work.
